Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has announced the expulsion of Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a 300-level female student, following a violent assault on a lecturer that has drawn widespread attention.
It can be recalled that on February 11, 2025, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a female 300-level, brutally assaulted a lecturer who sought her permission to pass with "excuse me" while the student was recording a TikTok video.
The University administration swiftly condemned the act of violence, emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of assault or harassment within the campus community.
In a statement released to the press, the Vice-Chancellor stated, “UNIZIK is committed to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for all students and staff. Violence is never the answer, and we will not tolerate actions that undermine the integrity of our academic institution.”
The expulsion of Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious was officially approved and announced on Friday in a statement by the Acting Registrar, Victor Modebelu.
Modebelu said the Acting Vice-Chancellor had received the report from the Student Disciplinary Committee on the student’s assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theater and Film Studies.
According to the statement, Chimamaka was found to be guilty of gross misconduct and violation of the Students Disciplinary Regulations, particularly Regulation 4.
“The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, consequently, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the Committee’s recommendation that you be expelled and you are hereby expelled from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,” the statement added.
