On Wednesday, February 5, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State received a condolence visit from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and the former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.
This visit was in response to the passing of Governor Makinde's elder brother, Sunday Makinde. It is noteworthy that Sunday Makinde passed away at the age of 65 on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Reports indicate that Minister Wike arrived at Governor Makinde's residence, located in the Ikolaba Government Reservation Area of Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, in the afternoon of that Wednesday.
Other distinguished personalities who extended their condolences to Governor Makinde included former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, as well as Senators Sandy Onor, Philip Aduda, Olaka Nwogu, Mao Ohuabunwa, and Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche and other notable figures.
