IPMAN Gives Update On Its Planned Nationwide Shutdown

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has issued an update regarding its proposed nationwide shutdown in response to the outstanding claim of N100 billion naira for bridging costs, which remains unpaid by the Nigerian government.

IPMAN has conveyed confidence that the federal government is actively addressing this matter.

Chinedu Ukadike, the spokesperson for IPMAN, communicated this information in a statement released on Thursday.

He indicated that there have been assurances from both the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources regarding the prompt clearance of these payments.

Mr. Ukadike stated, "I have been instructed to address the concerns about the backlog of outstanding bridging claims that many of our members are currently facing. Please be assured that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of IPMAN, under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Shettima Maigandi, is diligently working to resolve these issues as expeditiously as possible.

"We have maintained communication with both the NMDPRA and the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources. They have reaffirmed their commitment to addressing these pending claims alongside other pertinent issues.

"They have also assured us that payments will occur within a short timeframe."

It is important to note that on Monday, IPMAN had issued ven-day ultimatum for the shutdown of operations due to the unpaid bridging claim totaling N100 billion naira.
