Bama: Army Takes Down 10 Boko Haram Terrorists Uncovers Hidden Arms

Nigerian Army troops have achieved a significant victory against terrorist factions, successfully neutralizing ten Boko Haram fighters and seizing a substantial cache of automatic firearms during a coordinated operation in Borno State.

This operation also led to the apprehension of a crucial terrorist associate known for extorting ransom on behalf of both terrorists and bandits.

In an official statement, the Army reported, “On February 17, 2025, troops operating within the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State executed a high-impact raid deep within the Iza forest, a recognized stronghold for terrorists.”

Faced with the superior firepower of the Nigerian troops, ten Boko Haram members were neutralized, while additional members fled in disorder.

A comprehensive follow-up operation in the region culminated in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles along with two magazines loaded with ammunition.

In a separate and decisive operation, troops stationed in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State conducted a lethal ambush based on credible intelligence at a known bandit crossing point in Tunfa village.

This ambush resulted in the neutralization of one bandit and the capture of a high-value suspect associated with facilitating ransom payments for the infamous Sani Black terrorist faction.

Utilizing information obtained from the suspect, troops proceeded to raid a bandit hideout located in Tunga village, which has been identified as a hub for the illicit trade of stolen cattle. Multiple individuals were arrested, and all associated criminal infrastructure in the vicinity was dismantled.

To further strengthen counterterrorism initiatives, troops, acting on verified human intelligence, apprehended a suspected terrorist at Illela Market in the Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, commended the troops for their commitment and operational effectiveness, reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s dedication to the eradication of terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities that afflict various regions of the country. He urged citizens to continue their support by providing reliable information to assist in the collective effort to eliminate all forms of terrorism from Nigeria.
