Obafemi Martins, a former international football player from Nigeria, has expressed his belief that Ademola Lookman, the winger for the Super Eagles, possesses the capability to compete at an elite Premier League club.
In his remarks, Martins drew a parallel between himself and Lookman, highlighting the latter's recent recognition as the African Player of the Year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Martins commended Lookman for his consistent performances at both the club and national team levels. He asserted that the Super Eagles star has the potential to thrive at prestigious clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
“He’s one of my favorite players as well. My favorite striker, because every time I watch him, I just think about me and the way I used to play, but he’s probably better with the techniques and everything. He knows how to score goals as well, so I’m very happy for him, and I think he can do better.
The way he plays, he can play in the top teams in the Premier League, like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. I don’t know about Chelsea,” he told Livescore.
