The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the authoritative body responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has announced January 15th to February 26th for 2025 UTME registration and April 18th to 28th for the 2025 entrance examination into tertiary institutions.
JAMB has established a registration period of six weeks; consequently, the registration for the 2025 UTME will commence on Wednesday, January 15, and conclude on Wednesday, February 26.
All prospective candidates intending to register for JAMB in 2025 must meet the following prerequisites:
Candidates must possess a 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) obtained from any National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) enrollment center or the NIMC mobile application, which is required for creating a JAMB profile and registering for examinations.
Candidates must generate a JAMB Profile Code from the 10-digit code that will be sent following the submission of their NIN to 55019 or 66019 via text message.
Applicants are required to have a valid phone number to establish their JAMB profile and receive pertinent updates from JAMB. It is critical to use the same phone number throughout both the registration process and examination period.
Candidates must possess a functional email address to facilitate the creation of their JAMB profile and to access registration details.
Applicants should have their A’level or O’level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE) ready before registering for JAMB. Candidates may also apply with awaiting results, provided they upload their final results to the JAMB portal before securing admission.
Candidates must acquire an examination payment identification number (ePIN) to proceed with registration. The ePIN is priced at N3,500 and can be obtained through authorized channels, including banks, online platforms, or via USSD codes. Additional fees apply, including N700 for registration, N1,500 for the primary UTME examination, and N1,500 for the optional Mock-UTME (if applicable).
Applicants are required to provide personal information, including their name, date of birth, gender, state of origin, and local government area, in addition to submitting a passport photograph, completing biometric verification (thumbprint), and providing their signature.
The total estimated cost for registration, as indicated by the board, is approximately N5,200 for the principal examination and N6,700 for candidates opting for the Mock-UTME.
