The management of Rivers State University (RSU) has officially announced the release of the admission list for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Candidates who participated in the Rivers State University (RSU) Admission Screening Exercise for the 2024/2025 academic year may now verify their names on the Provisional Admission list of successful candidates.

Candidates who applied for undergraduate degree programs for this academic year are encouraged to promptly check their admission status.

  1. Visit https://www.rsu.edu.ng/.
  2. Locate the login credentials column displayed.
  3. Enter your JAMB Registration Number in the designated field.
  4. Click the "Check Admission" button to view your status.
  5. Await the page to load and display your "Admission Status"

How to Check RSU 2024/2025 Admission via JAMB CAPS

  1. Access the JAMB admission portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Log in to your JAMB profile using your username and password.
  3. For optimal viewing, locate the three-dotted icon at the top right corner of your browser (⋮) and enable the "Desktop site" feature.
  4. Scroll down and select the "Check Admission Status" tab.
  5. Choose your examination year and enter your registration number in the specified field.
  6. Click on “Check Admission Status” to ascertain whether you have been offered admission to the Rivers State University (RSU).
  7. Click on "Admission Status." You may encounter one of three possible outcomes: "Admission in progress – check back later,” “NOT ADMITTED,” or “CONGRATULATIONS.”
  8. In the first case, upon seeing "CONGRATULATIONS," you will need to either accept or reject the admission offer and await further instructions.
  9. In the second case, if your status indicates "Admission in progress," please be patient, as the status will be updated within a few days to weeks.
  10. Lastly, if you receive a "Not Admitted" status, do not lose hope. There may still be opportunities available, so maintain a positive outlook.

Please note that for aspirants who have not yet received an admission offer, the admission list will be released in batches via JAMB CAPS and the names will be send to the University.

ABOUT RSU:

Rivers State University (RIVSU or RSU), previously recognized as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (UST or RSUST), is a government-owned institution situated in the Diobu (Mile III) region of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Southern Nigeria.

As of 2021, the Vice Chancellor of the university is Professor Nlerum Sunday Okogbule, who was appointed under the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.

The Rivers State University of Science and Technology was established in 1972 as the College of Science and Technology. It attained independent university status in 1980, at which point its name was changed to Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

In March 2017, the institution underwent a further rebranding, becoming known simply as Rivers State University.

The university is currently undergoing expansion through various infrastructural projects across multiple faculties and continues to introduce additional faculties.

Notably, it is the only university in Nigeria accredited to offer degree programs in Marine Engineering.
