The Federal Government has approved Dangote Refinery as the exclusive supplier of jet fuel, known as Jet A1, for Nigeria's airline operators.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, in an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday. Keyamo disclosed that, with his endorsement and backing, airline operators have agreed to procure jet fuel solely from the 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery.
Keyamo highlighted the timeliness of this decision, especially following the federal government's recent implementation of the naira-for-crude agreement with Dangote.
He emphasized that this exclusive arrangement is expected to alleviate the strain on foreign exchange reserves.
“The airline operators just met recently. With my blessing, it’s a decision from the airline operators in Nigeria that they should only buy from Dangote refinery Jet A1.
