The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded three points and three goals to the Super Eagles of Nigeria following the disrupted 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Libya, which was scheduled to be played on Saturday, 15th October 2024.
This decision has strengthened the Super Eagles' position at the top of their group, where they have not accumulated a total of 10 points from four matches, placing them four points ahead of their nearest competitor, Benin.
Libya remains at the bottom of the group with a single point.
A draw against Benin in Abidjan next month will secure qualification for the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to take place in Morocco in December 2025.
In addition, CAF imposed a fine of $50,000 on the Libya Football Federation, which is to be paid within 60 days of the notification of this decision.
