The Kano State Hisbah Board has announced that the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa, Auwal Sankara, is wanted for alleged adultery.
Aminu Daurawa, the Commander General of the board, revealed this development during a press briefing in Kano.
According to Daurawa, the commissioner was reportedly found with a married woman in an unfinished building. This discovery was a result of intelligence tracking following several complaints from the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who accused the commissioner of engaging in an illicit relationship with his wife, Tasleem Nabegu, the mother of his two children.
Daurawa mentioned that efforts were made to resolve the matter out of court by summoning both families.
However, only the husband attended, while the commissioner declined the invitation and subsequently absconded after being released on bail by Misbah. D
Daurawa also stated that the case has been taken to court and encouraged the public to report any illicit activities to Hisbah in their communities.
The woman’s husband has appealed to the State Government and other relevant stakeholders for assistance in obtaining justice, emphasizing the criminality of engaging in extramarital affairs for married individuals.
