ABOUT AKSU:
Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) was established by the Akwa Ibom State Government with the objective of fostering the pursuit of knowledge to address practical development issues in Nigeria. The university welcomed its inaugural students in the 2010/2011 academic year.
Initially intended to be situated within Akwa Ibom State's Technology Triangle at the University Town, the university's governing law was later modified by the Akwa Ibom State Government to establish it as a multi-campus institution.
The main campus is located at Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin L.G.A, with a second campus, referred to as Abak Campus, situated at Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam L.G.A. The university's objectives have subsequently been broadened by the state government to transform it into a comprehensive institution, encompassing not only Technology and Applied Science but also Arts. In alignment with this transformation, the institution's name was changed from Akwa Ibom State University of Technology to Akwa Ibom State University.
