During the opening ceremony of the 17th Annual Banking and Finance Conference in Abuja organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Vice President Kashim Shettima made a solemn pledge to the citizens of Nigeria.
In his address, he emphasized the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government to take decisive actions to safeguard Nigeria from the brink of collapse. Shettima stressed the vital role of the banking sector in addressing the complex economic challenges facing Nigeria and urged all stakeholders present at the conference to utilize the platform for engaging in discussions concerning both national and global issues.
This declaration comes at a critical juncture as Nigeria confronts pressing issues such as soaring inflation, which currently stands at 33.40 percent, and the recent increase in petrol pump price from N897 to N617 per liter.
