The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Governors' Forum urges the security agencies to take note of the statements made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, regarding potential political disruptions in states where governors may attempt to intervene in the affairs of the PDP in Rivers State.
This communication was relayed in a statement by the Director General of the PDP Governors' Forum, Emmanuel Agbo.
The statement emphasizes that everyone is subject to the law. Wike's remarks, particularly his threats to disrupt the political atmosphere in PDP-controlled states, are deemed reckless, irresponsible, and intolerable by the governors.
They assert that such statements undermine the efforts to foster and sustain peace, unity, cooperation, and mutual respect among the party's leaders and members.
The governors express their unwavering commitment to the "touch one, touch all" principle, standing united and supportive of each other. They emphasize that this steadfastness is not subject to the review of any individual, regardless of their standing.
The governors reaffirm their dedication to collaborating with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to ensure that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State receives the privileges befitting a governor elected under the party's banner, both at the state and national levels.
