ABOUT MAUTECH:
Modibbo Adama University, Yola, a public research institution located in Girei, Adamawa State, Northeastern Nigeria, is an accredited university offering associate's, bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees. Its establishment as one of the four federal technology universities aims to advance science-based research. The university operates under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Abdullahi Liman Tukur and is accredited by the National Universities Commission.
Initially merged with the University of Maiduguri in 1984, the institution became the Modibbo Adama Campus (MACUM) of the Federal University of Technology, Yola. However, it regained autonomy in 1988 and underwent a name change to Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, in 2011, authorized by then-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and later confirmed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021.
The university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degrees across seven schools: the Faculty of Agriculture (FOA), the Faculty of Environmental Science (FES), the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS), the Faculty of Physical Sciences (FPS), the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS), the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), the Faculty of Education (FED), the College of Medical Sciences, the School of General Studies (SGS), and the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS).
In addition to traditional full-time programs, the university provides degree programs through its distance learning center and Diploma and Certificate programs through its Consultancy Services Unit, offering over twenty programs. Notably, the university focuses mainly on teaching and research in science and technology, leading to various partnerships and collaborations with foreign universities, corporate entities, government, and non-governmental organizations.
