The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced that it will begin lifting Premium Motor Spirit from Dangote Refinery on September 15, 2024.
The Executive Vice President of Downstream of the Company, Adedapo Segun, shared this information during an appearance on TVC News' "Journalists' Hangout" show, emphasizing that the company is eagerly anticipating the September 15 timeline set by the 650,000 barrels per day Lagos-based refinery.
Despite recent price hikes and lingering fuel scarcity nationwide, Segun assured that NNPCL is working in collaboration with marketers to ensure extended operating hours for fuel stations to maintain adequate fuel supply for the Nigerian market.
He also mentioned engagement with relevant authorities to prevent product diversions and facilitate timely deliveries to all stations. Segun expressed confidence that the scarcity will alleviate in the coming days as more stations recalibrate and resume operations.
It is worth noting that Dangote Refinery refuted claims of NNPCL commencing petrol lifting, which followed Aliko Dangote's official announcement of the commencement of production at the refinery.
