UNILAG Announces Post-UTME Screening Details and Eligibility Criteria

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Akoka has officially commenced online registration for the 2024/2025 post-UTME screening. Prospective students seeking admission into undergraduate courses and programs are required to adhere to the outlined criteria for eligibility and admission.

The announcement was made by the acting registrar of the university, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde, in a statement released by the institution’s spokesperson, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem. The online registration for the screening, which is strictly web-based, will require a fee of N2,000 per applicant. The registration period begins on Monday, 5th of August, and ends on Friday, 23rd of August 2024. The post-UTME online aptitude test is scheduled to take place between Monday, 2nd of September, and Friday, 6th of September 2024.

Eligible candidates for the screening must have selected UNILAG as their first choice in the last UTME and obtained a minimum score of 200. Furthermore, they need to possess five credit passes at one sitting in relevant O/level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Their O/Level results must have been uploaded to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before the 9th of September, 2024, to be considered for admission.

Candidates who will not be 16 years of age by 31st October 2024 are ineligible and are advised not to apply. Additionally, those who do not participate in the Post-UTME Online Aptitude test will not be considered for admission. Former students of the institution whose admissions were withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence status may re-apply for a new program/course distinct from their previous one.

It's vital to note that individuals expelled from the university are not eligible for readmission, and applicants testing positive for drugs will not be offered admission or will forfeit admission if such detection occurs post-offer.

Further details regarding the registration procedure are available on the institution’s website, www.unilag.edu.ng. UNILAG maintains a strict policy of zero tolerance for drug abuse and other social vices.
