The Ogun State Police Command has issued a public alert regarding the activities of a notorious one-chance gang on the Sagamu, Ijebu Ode to Mowe Expressway. Omolola Odutola, the command's spokesperson, released a statement late Wednesday, highlighting multiple complaints received from residents. One such incident involved a victim who was robbed of an undisclosed sum at gunpoint after entering a vehicle from Kajola on Wednesday.
In response to these incidents, the spokesperson cautioned traders and business owners against traveling with significant amounts of cash and advised commuters to utilize video recordings and share them with the police if they have doubts about a vehicle they have boarded.
Odutola emphasized the prevalence of the notorious gang's activities within the Sagamu, Ijebu Ode to Mowe axis and implored commuters to document their trips when uncertain about a vehicle. Additionally, she urged traders and business owners to refrain from traveling with substantial cash amounts due to recent incidents.
The spokesperson shared details of a specific incident where an undisclosed sum was forcibly transferred from a victim who boarded from Kajola. The victim was driven to a street and coerced into making the transfer using a POS machine at gunpoint. The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
