BREAKING: WAEC Releases 2024 WASSCE Results Monday, 12th August

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is scheduled to release the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today, Monday, 12th August 2024.

As conveyed by Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, the acting Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, the announcement will be made by the Head of the National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, at the Yaba headquarters.

The release of the results follows 45 days after the administration of the last exam paper. Dr. Amos Dangut previously reported that out of the 1.8 million students who participated in the exam, 902,328 (49.73 percent) were male, while 912,016 (50.27 percent) were female.

The examination covered 76 subjects comprising 197 papers, and it was supervised by 30,000 secondary school teachers. Dr. Dangut noted that the results would be announced in line with the 45-day tradition, and certificates will be printed and distributed to schools within 90 days of the results release.

It is worth noting that the release of the WASSCE results will likely have significant implications for candidates seeking admission to higher education institutions, as many universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education have commenced their 2024 admission exercises following the conclusion of the education policy meeting.

Some institutions have already initiated the admission process, including scheduling dates for the post-UTME screening/test.
