Breaking News: University of Ibadan to Accept Candidates with Low 2024 UTME Scores

The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that prospective students who obtained scores below 200 on the 2024 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be eligible for admission to its Distance Learning Centre.

This decision was communicated through an official statement issued by Professor Babatunde Omobowale, the Director of the DLC, on Monday.

Professor Omobowale emphasized that individuals aspiring to pursue undergraduate degrees at the university may avail themselves of the Open Distance eLearning (ODel) platform for enrollment. This strategic initiative aims to extend the reach of quality education to a wider demographic.

The university reaffirmed its commitment to broadening access to quality education, stating that both new and returning students are scheduled to commence their academic activities in September.

In adherence to this commitment, Professor Omobowale remarked, "University of Ibadan (UI) is dedicated to facilitating equitable access to quality education.

Prospective students who obtained scores below 200 in the JAMB UTME or those who did not partake in the examination are encouraged to capitalize on this opportunity to enroll in any of the University's undergraduate programs through the ODeL mode."
