The gospel music community is currently grappling with the tragic loss of Aduke Ajayi, who was professionally known as Aduke Gold, and was regarded as a promising rising star in the industry.
Fellow gospel artist Esther Igbekele announced Aduke Gold's passing on Tuesday through a tribute shared on social media. The tribute featured a photo of Aduke Gold accompanied by the caption, “A general has fallen. RIP.”
Aduke Gold's untimely demise follows closely after the passing of another prominent gospel singer, Egbin Orun, who died on April 28, 2024. Igbekele also confirmed Orun’s death through an Instagram post.
Igbekele emphasized, “Despite the competitive nature of the gospel music industry, Aduke Gold left a significant imprint with her soul-stirring songs and unwavering dedication to her craft. Her talent and fervor earned her a growing fanbase and increasing popularity, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.”
According to a source close to the deceased, Aduke Gold had been unwell for two months and passed away on Monday, August 12 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
