Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has issued a call for an increased participation of Nigerian citizens in the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest, which is aimed at addressing the policies of President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Atiku emphasized that the protest, initiated on Thursday, presents a pivotal moment for the collective voice of the nation to be amplified and urged the protesters to uphold their peaceful approach.
The former Vice President urged law enforcement agencies to handle the protests with utmost professionalism and strongly denounced the reported acts of violence resulting in the loss of innocent lives by security personnel.
He advised President Tinubu to engage in dialogue with the protesters, urging him to step down from his position and underscoring that the country cannot endure further unrest.
Atiku acknowledged the overall peaceful conduct of the protesters, albeit acknowledging occasional instances of violence culminating in confrontations with the police.
