APC party leaders Summons Ali Ndume consider Reinstatement as Senate Whip

The All Progressives Congress (APC) summoned Senator Ali Ndume to explain his recent statements against President Bola Tinubu, which resulted in his removal as Senate Whip.

Following the meeting, APC's National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed satisfaction with Ndume’s apology and stated that the party would convey this to the Senate leadership in order to request a review of its decision.

It is worth noting that Ndume was removed after the APC's National Working Committee wrote to the Senate led by Godswill Akpabio, expressing concerns about the Borno senator’s remarks against Tinubu.

Ganduje remarked, “We are content with his apology. Being a party, we have the authority to summon legislators, members of the executive, and even appointed party members in the government. This is why we decided to hold the meeting. It’s a family matter that needs resolution, and we will communicate the details to the National Assembly for potential reconsideration of their position.”

Senator Ndume acknowledged that he should have addressed his concerns to the party leadership instead of raising them on national television.

He stated, “Yesterday, I was invited to the party, and today, I am here to discuss family matters. The national chairman is not just a national chairman to me but a father. Regarding what transpired, I acknowledge that I should have approached the party before taking my concerns public. Moving forward, I will ensure that any concerns, as a senior member of the family, are resolved within the party. My membership remains intact, and I see the party as my family. The party simply indicated that if I didn’t want to be part of this house, I could go elsewhere. But where else would I go? This is my home.”
