Chukwuemeka Philomina Ekpereamaka, a 100L first-year student enrolled in the Education English department at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), was reportedly abducted following her visit to her boyfriend's residence. The incident took place on July 14, 2024, near Bello Hostel on the university campus.
Reports from CirclesonTV indicate that Ekpereamaka informed her roommates of her intention to meet her boyfriend downstairs before she was discovered missing from the campus. In a prior WhatsApp voice message to her roommate, Ekpereamaka disclosed that her boyfriend may have orchestrated the situation, alleging, "It seems he owes these people money, and they have decided not to release me until they are paid. I am uncertain about the duration of my captivity and find this environment unfamiliar; I am unfamiliar with my surroundings."

The university community has expressed grave apprehension for Ekpereamaka's well-being and is urging swift intervention from the appropriate authorities.
