Nigerian professional footballer, Kayode Olarenwaju, has petitioned the Federal Capital Territory High Court to dissolve his marriage to his estranged wife, Ezinne, citing an irretrievable breakdown.

Olarenwaju, who is domiciled in Turkey, also seeks custody of their children and claims that UK-based pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, should pay him N1 billion in damages, alleging emotional trauma, financial loss, and loss of goodwill due to an adulterous relationship with Ezinne.

The marital discord escalated with Ezinne counter-suing Olarenwaju on March 20, 2024, alleging baseless accusations of infidelity and witchcraft, along with the destruction of her phone by Olarenwaju.

In response, Olarenwaju filed a cross-petition on July 1, 2024, accusing Ezinne of repeated acts of adultery with the UK-based pastor and other individuals since their marriage in 2013. Ezinne and the UK-based pastor are listed as Respondent and Co-Respondent respectively in Olarenwaju's cross-petition.

Additionally, Olarenwaju claimed that Ezinne kidnapped their children on March 24, 2024, and absconded to an undisclosed location in Abuja. The children were subsequently rescued by the Department of State Services.

Furthermore, Olarenwaju accused Ezinne of undermining their joint business ventures, alleging that she colluded with a former lover to exclusively manage properties purchased under their joint investments.

Requesting custody of the children, Olarenwaju emphasized Ezinne's alleged disregard for their well-being, citing inappropriate discussions and her actions during the school term.

Olarenwaju's requested reliefs include the dissolution of the marriage, custody of the children, and damages from the Co-Respondent due to the adulterous relationship.

The case is scheduled for a hearing on September 24, 2024.
