Ifeanyi Ubah, a Senator representing the Anambra South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.
The announcement of his death was made known by Yemi Adaramodu, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Affairs, who confirmed this to CIRCLESONTV on Saturday morning.
Ubah passed away in London, United Kingdom, where he had traveled just two days prior. He was a prominent Nigerian politician, entrepreneur, and the CEO of Capital Oil (CCO), which he established in 2001.
The late senator was married to Uchenna, a Business Administration graduate from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, with whom he had 5 children. He also established the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, a charitable organization carrying his name.
In September 2022, Ubah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt when gunmen attacked his convoy on the way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State.
The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 5 individuals, including two policemen. However, Ubah survived the incident due to the ballistic protection of the vehicle he was traveling in.
