Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has recently embarked on a significant spiritual journey by being ordained as an evangelical pastor, three years after co-founding the Manah Church in Maceio, his hometown. Alongside his wife, Larissa Pereira, and pastors Jairo Fernandes and Keila Medeiros, he established the church in 2020.
In an Instagram post, Firmino shared photos of the ordination ceremony that took place on Sunday, June 30. The 32-year-old and his wife described the event as “memorable and unforgettable.”
In his Instagram post, Firmino expressed gratitude for the privilege of witnessing the growth of the church and emphasized his commitment to spreading the message of Christ. This spiritual dedication follows a significant decision taken a few years ago when Firmino was baptized in the swimming pool at the home of his former teammate, Alisson Becker.
Despite his new pastoral role, Firmino has not retired from football. He currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli and has two years remaining on his contract.
Roberto Firmino's commitment to both professional football and pastoral duties epitomizes his deep-rooted dedication to his faith and community, setting a powerful example for many around the world.
