The administration of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has declared the expulsion of 175 students due to a variety of infractions. This announcement was made through a statement released by KWASU's spokesperson, Saeedat Aliyu, on Tuesday.
According to the university's administration, the decision to expel these students was made following the recommendations of the Students' Disciplinary Committee, which convened between October 2021 and March 2024.
The expelled students were found guilty of offenses such as examination malpractice, theft, fraudulent acquisition of admission through falsified results, assault, fraud, affiliation with unregistered groups, and possession of firearms.
Ms. Aliyu emphasized the institution's unwavering commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for all forms of indiscipline, asserting the university's dedication to nurturing graduates who exemplify excellence in both character and academia.
