Nigerian U16 to miss UEFA tournament as Spanish Embassy denies team Visa

The Nigerian U16 football team will not be attending the UEFA U16 tournament after the Spanish embassy refused to grant the team visas. The reasons behind the refusal are yet to be disclosed.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the team’s withdrawal from the competition in a tweet on Monday.

“Players and officials of the Nigeria U15 team, Future Eagles, have been denied visas by the Spanish Embassy and will therefore not be traveling to participate in the UEFA U-16 Development Tournament starting on Friday,” the tweet reads.

This news is a disappointment for the team who were eagerly anticipating their participation in the tournament. This saddening matter has raised concerns about the visa application process and the need for greater transparency and fairness in the process, most especially in the case of Nigeria.
