The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has recently announced the incorporation of Keyboard and Mouse usage for answering questions during the CBT Examination in 2024 UTME. This new method is expected to make taking the JAMB CBT Examination faster and simpler than ever before.
The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a standardized computer-based test administered to prospective undergraduates in Nigeria. The primary objective of the exam is to assess candidates' problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and scientific knowledge.
The exam encompasses all relevant subjects, and each subject is evaluated based on its respective significance. Until 2014, the exam was taken using traditional pen-and-paper methods. However, since May 17, 2014, all administrations of the exam have been computer-based.

The UTME examination format is computer-based, requiring test-takers to answer four subjects relevant to their desired course of study. The examination lasts for two hours, during which a calculator is provided for subjects requiring calculation.
In terms of admission requirements, the UTME cut-off mark is the minimum score recommended by JAMB for prospective admission seekers to tertiary institutions. This score is used as a pass mark before candidates qualify to write post-UTME or undergo screening exercises.
The scoring range required for admission varies among Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and innovative enterprise institutions. Annually, cut-off marks are set before the UTME examination is written.
It is pertinent to note that the UTME examination lasts for two hours, irrespective of the combination of subjects. This means that test-takers have a total of 120 minutes to answer all questions.
We hope these instructions help you successfully navigate the JAMB exam using your mouse. Good luck!
