Exclusive: Bobrisky Sentenced to Six Months in Jail Without no Option of fine

Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in jail by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The sentence was handed out on Friday, April 12, and carries no option of a fine. The cross-dresser was arraigned in court by the EFCC on April 5th on a six-count charge, including abuse of the Naira and money laundering. While the money laundering charges were dismissed, he was convicted of Naira Abuse after confessing to the crime. The court also ordered that he be remanded in EFCC detention in Lagos.

The judgement was originally scheduled to be delivered on April 9 but had to be postponed due to the public holiday for the Eid-Fitri celebrations from April 9 to April 11.
