The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has recently announced that rumors regarding the deployment of prospective corps members from the South-East, South-South, and South-West regions of Nigeria to the North-West for the 2024 Batch 'A' Stream Two are fake and misleading.
The NYSC has confirmed that the letter of the purported deployment did not emanate from the NYSC management and has asked the public to disregard it.
NYSC is an organization backed up by the constitution with its statutory and unbiased deployment policy without tribal, religious and other sentiments. The organization has been successfully carrying out this policy for the past fifty (50) years of its existence.
The management of NYSC has reiterated its strong commitment to the security and welfare of its corps members, and the scheme will continue to sustain the existing deployment policy of prospective corps members for the benefit of all members of the service corps. This policy will also aid national unity and development without prejudice.
Further, parents, guardians, prospective corps members, and other members of the public are advised to disregard the malicious information that lacks merit with the imagination of the writer and is meant to raise apprehension among prospective corps members for the next orientation exercise slated for April 2024.
The purveyors of fake news on NYSC programs are strongly warned and advised to desist from peddling fake news. Members of the public should always clarify news items from NYSC social media handles or NYSC offices located in all states of the federation.
