The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the scheduled date to conclude the ongoing recruitment process into the Federal Fire Service (FFS) as June 15, 2024.
The Minister of Interior and chairman of the Board, Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this during the quarterly review meeting with heads of the four paramilitary agencies under its supervision. The new date aligns with the Board's revised timeline for the employment process in the paramilitary services under its purview.
Shortlisted candidates will receive messages to their emails and mobile phone numbers requesting them to visit the Board's portal to complete the recruitment process. The Minister urged the public to disregard social media messages soliciting payment for placement, as they are fraudulent.
During the meeting, the Board considered 118 cases of erring officers of the four services under its purview and meted out appropriate disciplinary measures. The breakdown of the cases and resolutions revealed that 48 officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service, 21 officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, 12 officers of the Federal Fire Service, and 37 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were involved.
Of the total cases, 30 officers were dismissed, while five others were to be dismissed and prosecuted. Nine were recommended for retirement, 17 were to be de-ranked and punished, and 14 others were recommended for discharge, acquittal, and issuance of commendation letters. The Board remains committed to ensuring discipline and professionalism in the paramilitary services under its purview.
