Arsenal secured a late victory against Brentford, with Kai Havertz's header proving to be the deciding goal, sending Arsenal to the top of the English Premier League table.
This result was enough for Arsenal to secure the summit position for the first time in 2024, while their title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City faced off against each other on Sunday.
Arsenal took the lead in the 19th minute through Declan Rice's glancing header from Ben White's cross. However, Yoane Wissa scored just before half-time, levelling the game and sending Aaron Ramsdale's attempted clearance into the net, causing the keeper to blush.
Ramsdale, who started for Arsenal in place of Brentford loanee David Raya, redeemed himself with two excellent saves from Ivan Toney and Nathan Collins.
Eventually, Havertz scored the winner with a header in the 86th minute from another brilliant delivery by White. Brentford, on the other hand, remains in 15th place, five points above the relegation zone.
